Steps of Faith: Walking with Purpose

As the new year unfolds, many of us find ourselves motivated to embrace healthier habits and set new goals. It’s a time for reflection, growth, and renewal. What better way to combine physical wellness with spiritual growth than by getting more steps in while abiding in His word? Through meaningful conversation in the Anchored & Abiding Discord community, a few of us came up with the inspiring idea of Walking with Purpose.
This challenge is a journey that nurtures our spirits, strengthens our bodies, and deepens our walk with Jesus. We invite you to join Steps in Faith, a walking challenge designed to engage women in following in His footsteps, both literally and spiritually. The goal is to walk 7,150–10,000 steps daily, supporting each other as we grow in faith and wellness together.
Why Join the Challenge?
Our spiritual and physical well-being are beautifully intertwined. As we prioritize time in God’s Word, we’re also called to steward our bodies, minds, and hearts. Steps in Faith is our invitation to step into a deeper relationship with Jesus while caring for yourself holistically.
Community and fellowship play a vital role in our motivation and growth. Walking together, both literally and spiritually, strengthens our bonds with one another and encourages us to stay committed. By joining Steps in Faith, you’re not just committing to a walking challenge, but also stepping into a supportive community where we can uplift, pray for, and encourage each other as we walk in faith.
Our First Week: Nazareth to Cana
For our first challenge, we’ll retrace Jesus’ path from Nazareth to Cana, a 26-mile journey spread over seven days. Each day, you’ll be encouraged to:
– Hit Your Steps Goal: Walk a portion of the distance as we journey together.
– Meditate on Scripture: Receive a daily Bible verse to reflect on during your walk.
– Be Encouraged: Enjoy uplifting commentary to inspire and motivate you.
To promote wellness of mind, body, and spirit, participants will receive a free daily tracking sheet. This resource includes space to:
– Journal thoughts and prayers related to the verse of the day.
– Track your mood and note the weather.
– Monitor your water and food intake.
By integrating these elements, the Steps in Faith challenge becomes more than a walk—it’s a full journey toward wholeness in Christ.
